OLYMPIC PANTHEON
In the Greek Wicca Tradition we worship the pantheon of the Olympic Gods. Studying the greek mithology and classical literacture its noticed that the Greek Gods although representing some nature’s forces, They also have very humanized attributes by the way they interact among Themselves and with the mortals, susceptible to passions, wishes and other human emotions, what bring Them closer to us. This closeness eases the communication with the Gods and their chosen people through the cults, rites and offerings devoted to Them.
The greek mithology has a huge variety of Gods, so we will mention just the most notorious of them:
Zeus = Son of Cronos and Rea; Defeated the Titans and stablished the supremacy of the Olympic Gods, becoming Their Leader and Ruler over both Heaven and the Earth; King of the Gods; Lord of the Storms and Lightning and God of the Games.
Hera = Sister and Wife of Zeus; Queen of the Olympus; Godess of Family and Marriage.
Hestia = Older sister of Zeus; Chast Godess; Lady of the Fireplace; Protector of the Home; Her sacred flames are present in every home and altars.
Demeter = Sister of Zeus; Mother of Kóre/Persefone; Godess of Agriculture and all that germinates.
Poseidon = Brother of Zeus; Lord of the Seas and the Earthquakes.
Artemis = Daughter of Zeus and Leto; Represents the Moon; Maiden Goddess of the Hunt; Protector of the Forests and Childbirths.
Apollon = Twin brother of Artemis; Represents the Sun; God of Healing; Beauty; Arts and Oracles.
Athena = Daughter of Zeus and Metis; Warrior Maiden; Goddess of Wisdom; Justice; Strategy and Craftsmanship.
Hermes = Son of Zeus and Maia; Messenger of the Gods; God of Communication; Knowlegde; Commerce and Conductor of the Souls.
Hephaestos = Son of Zeus and Hera; God of the Volcanos; Forges; Patron of Engineering; Creativeness and Technology.
Aphrodite = Born from the Sea foam; Wife of Hefestos; Goddess of Beauty; Love and Seduction.
Ares = Son of Zeus and Hera; God of War and Courage.
Dionysos = Son fo Zeus and Semele; God of Wine; Agriculture; Fertility; Ecstasy and Theater.
